Quantz is an Ass ... and other musical mayhem at the court of Frederick the Great
A Baroque birthday party, loosely based on the events of King Frederick the Great's birthday celebrations in 1758, this album portrays him as flautist, absolute ruler, riddle-lover and music fanatic. It’s a colourful mix of works from his court composers (Graun, Quantz), as well as their contemporaries (Hasse, Telemann, Bach)
